Consultant - ESG Governance, Risk & Compliance - Financial services - Verona

6 apr 2024

When risk becomes the key to success.

In a macroeconomic scenario dominated by market volatility, pervasive technological innovation and geopolitical risks, the sustainability of the financial sector is a “crucial” enabler of the economic growth as undertakings are long term investors, lenders, insurers, …

In this context, the important commitment of the EU Sustainable Finance Plan enabled the development of several regulations and ESAs guidelines aimed at:

  • re-orienting capital flows towards sustainable investments,
  • strengthening the Risk Management Framework considering also ESG factors
  • promoting transparency and a forward-looking view of financial and economic activities

Therefore, companies must be able to anticipate regulatory evolutions, analyze and manage new ESG risks and transparently communicate their objectives and results.

KPMG Advisory's Governance, risk & compliance team focused on ESG helps financial undertakings to comply with new ESG regulations (e.g. Green Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, …) and transform new ESG risks into opportunities for the improvement of their organization and evolution of their governance systems to gain a competitive edge and offer integrated solutions and innovative approaches for strategic risk management.

By joining our team in Verona, you will be involved in projects to define governance, risk management and legislative compliance strategies in the Financial services sector. Your experience will be put to full use, making you the point person for leading Italian and international clients.

  • Evolution of customer protection including ESG factors (e.g. MIFID / IDD, greenwashing, …);
  • Due diligence on human rights and environmental aspects;
  • EU Taxonomy;
  • Responsible investments.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • up to one year of experience with companies (insurance companies or banks) or consulting companies;
